Why Parent Counselling?
Parenting is one of the hardest jobs — and one of the most important.

When children struggle with anxiety, device overuse, aggression, or withdrawal, parents can feel stuck, exhausted, and unsure what to do.

Counselling gives you clear tools and calm guidance so you can respond differently, reduce conflict, and build connection.

I’m Tamar Sloan, a registered psychologist with over 25 years’ experience supporting children, teens, and families. Alongside my private practice, I work in schools and train professionals in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) — an internationally recognised, evidence-based approach that underpins Relational Parenting.

I have a primary focus in helping parents respond to challenging behaviours with both calm and confidence. My focus is never on blame, but on empowering you with practical tools that reduce conflict, strengthen connection, and create space for lasting change.

As a parent myself, I know how overwhelming and isolating it can feel when your child is struggling. My role is to walk alongside
you—offering guidance, support, and proven strategies that fit your family’s unique needs.
