TAMAR SLOAN
Registered Psychologist | Accredited NVR Trainer

I’m a registered psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with young people and their families. My career began in residential care, supporting children with complex and challenging behaviours. That early passion for vulnerable youth led me into education, where I taught in alternative settings with at-risk students—learning firsthand the power of relational connection in shaping behaviour and re-engaging hope.

Since becoming a psychologist in 2011, I’ve continued to focus on school and family systems, supporting parents, educators, and carers to respond to distress and disruption with calm strength and compassion. I believe in the transformative power of connection—and our ability to become agents of change in even the most challenging circumstances.

Over a decade ago, I discovered the Relational Parenting (Non-Violent Resistance, NVR) framework and knew I’d found something profoundly impactful. I’ve since become a Level IV Accredited Trainer and have had the privilege of guiding parents and professionals as they build stronger, more fulfilling relationships with the children in their lives. NVR continues to shape my practice, and I developed the Relational Presence framework to bring its principles to life in a way that’s accessible, empowering, and deeply human.

It’s an honour to walk alongside families on this journey. I look forward to supporting you as you reclaim your role as a calm, connected anchor in your child’s life.
